Peggy Hammett
Director of Christian Education
Believing that all people, regardless of age, should learn God's word, the Christian
Education program at First Presbyterian focuses on all ages. Sunday School begins at
10:00 AM every Sunday morning for children and adults. The curriculum for pre-school
through middle school is Walk With Me from Faith Alive Christian Resources.
This is the first year that we have used it. Why did we choose it?
Because it is Biblical, reformed, easy to use, grows faith, fun, builds community,
and celebrates diversity.
All teachers have spent time in a workshop with Peggy Hammett and have been trained
in different aspects of the curriculum. The CE committee and the Sunday School faculty
seems to be very pleased with the choice.
The Senior High class uses the FCA Bible study and occasionally joins with the adult classes
for a special study. Adult studies include two classes of The Present Word and four
elective classes.

Celebrating Our Heritage,
Embracing Our Future
It is with excitement that we begin the 2009-2010 Christian Education year here at First
Presbyterian Church. We have a wonderful theme for this year:
Celebrating Our Heritage,
Embracing Our Future
The theme was developed from Psalm 100:5 - "For the LORD is good and his love endures
forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations."
Here at First Presbyterian Church we are, as we are told in Hebrews, "surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses."
All those who have gone before us have left a tremendous heritage. It is up to us to embrace
our future and move in the direction that God leads us.
