Hi there! I'm Pam McAlhany and I have been the Youth Director at First Presbyterian Church since 2005 and
a church member since 1996. I enjoy doing life with my husband Johnny and our two children Jack and Molly.
Although of the "slightly older" persuasion, I love being with the young people of our church and digging
deeper into faith with them. The hardest thing is staying up on those late retreat nights! I have really
enjoyed watching them grow closer to God and making friendships with each other.
In my former life, I was an operating room nurse (yuck) and after being at home with Jack and Molly,
I went back to graduate school (Go Clemson!) to take Horticulture classes. I love plants! That's why my
favorite thing to do is whatever will take me outside. I love hiking, traveling, running, gardening, reading -
in the hammock - and being with my family.
I have run three half marathons and my goal now is to do a Triathlon, which is swimming, biking and running.
My challenge is that I cannot swim! I'm on a mission to learn, though, so that doesn't keep me from reaching
my goal. I'm shooting for the Sprint Triathlon here in Greenwood in the spring.
I feel blessed to be a part of the Youth Program and I have definitely grown in my faith since being here.
