PALS
Greenwood PALS Mentors is a Greenwood County agency that provides one-to-one relationships for single-parent youth through adult volunteers. The goal of this big-brother, big-sister type program is to ensure qualities such as Praise, Assurance, Love, and Security by means of a bonded friendship. PALS serves both males and females, ages 5 to 17 years old. There is an ever continuing and growing need for senior PAL mentors, adult volunteers who will give of themselves. Budgeted: $500.00

Using volunteer help, this agency provides homes for people who live in substandard conditions and cannot afford to improve their living conditions through conventional means. Recipients are chosen through a selection process and must contribute 500 hours of "sweat equity" in the construction of their home. The Greenwood program was started in 1988. Church members have served on the Board of Directors. Budgeted: $1,000.00
