GREENWOOD SOUP KITCHEN: Volunteers to assist with preparing and serving

HABITAT FOR HUMANITY: You don't have to be a carpenter. Volunteers
of all types and skill levels are needed on a varying schedule. Contact HFH

GREENWOOD LITERACY COUNCIL: Tutors are needed to help instruct basic
reading, generally one-to-one for a few hours a week. Instruction will be
provided. Contact the Literacy Council at 864 223-1303.
BOWERS-RODGERS HOME: Volunteers are needed both at the home and at
the Resale Store.

THE BLOOD CONNECTION: First Presbyterian cooperates with The Blood Connection to replace needed blood
free to the immediate family of members if 25 % of the active membership contributes.
At a contribution level of 50%, blood will be replaced for extended family
members anywhere in the country. New equipment allows for quicker collection of
whole blood, plus platelets.

MEG'S HOUSE: Volunteers to help with shelter monitoring are needed.
This position will require training and a background check. Other volunteers
are needed to provide transportation for clients to social services and doctor's
appointments, assist with yard work at the House, baby sit for clients who
need to go to court, sort and size clothing contributions. Also gardeners
needed for their community garden Plant-a-Row for the Hungry.

GREENWOOD COMMUNITY CHILDREN'S CENTER has many varied opportunities
for volunteers to serve the children of the community. These include being
a mentor for new parents, providing child care while parents are in support
groups and making blue ribbons for Child Abuse Prevention Month in April.

FIRST PRESBYTERIAN / SALVATION ARMY FOOD PANTRY PARTNERSHIP
needs volunteers to help with either warehouse sorting or stocking food, or in the food pantry bagging food.
A "pool" of volunteers will permit flexible schedules to assist a minimum of 1-2 hours per month to
a maximum of 1-2 hours per week.

Greenwood Pals Mentors: There is an ever continuing and growing need for PALS Mentors adult
volunteers who will give of themselves. There are many young people who have been referred and are
waiting for someone to care. It requires little additional time since you are encouraged to simply
