PRESBYTERIAN WOMEN LIFE HONORARY MEMBERSHIP AWARD
Each year at our Loyalty Evening, a membership in Presbyterian Women's Honorary Life Membership Program is conferred upon an honoree in recognition of faithful service in some area of the church's work. This year Sara Smith received this honor.
Sara is a lifelong Presbyterian who has been a Sunday school and circle teacher; a Stephen minister; an elder; a committee member on the Scholarship, Endowment, and Visitation committees; and she helped organize the Disciple classes for our congregation. Sara recently co-chaired the cookbook committee that successfully produced the 100th year anniversary edition of the "Culinary Crinkles" cookbook.
Sara is an outstanding example of a Presbyterian Woman, and she richly deserved this honor.
Presbyterian Women's Missions
Our PW member's pledges support a wide variety of missions and programs.
Our proposed budget for 2011-2012 will support the following:
- A Mission Pledge is made to support the mission of the PC(USA Worldwide and PW in the
PC(USA) and the work of PW in the Synod and in the Presbytery.
About 14% of our budget will support this per/member pledge.
- We support many regional missions through Trinity Presbytery such as seminary
scholarship programs, Camp Fellowship and Thornwell Home for Children with about 22% of our budget.
- Local Benevolences such as Faith Home for Women, Greater Greenwood United Ministries,
and MEG's House represent about 15% of our budget.
- We support the work of four dedicated missionaries with about 14% of our budget.
In addition, each of our circles very generously support one local and one international mission throughout each year.

Shawls are given away as part of this program of sharing comfort, blessings, and prayers.
Also, numerous baby caps are given to our hospital.
