First Presbyterian Church of Greenwood

Purpose

Forgiven and freed by God in Jesus Christ,
and empowered by the Holy Spirit,

to support the mission of the church worldwide
to work for justice and peace, and
to build an inclusive, caring community of women that
strengthens the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.)
and witnesses to the promise of God's kingdom.

Membership in Presbyterian Women is voluntary and is open to every woman in the church.
We meet together in Circles for Bible Study, Service and Fellowship.
We have six circles which meet at various times.

Circle #1 - First Tuesday of the month at 10:00 a.m. at Wesley Commons.

Circle #2 - First Monday of the month at 10:00 a.m. at the church.

Circle #3 - Second Monday of the month at 10:30 a.m. at the church.

Circle #5 - First Tuesday of the month at 12:30 noon Alexander Hall.

Circle #6 - First Monday evening of the month at 7:30 p.m. This circle meets in homes.

Circle #7 - First Tuesday of the month at 10:00 a.m. This circle meets in homes.

We contribute to several benevolences and each circle chooses service projects they wish to support.

Shawls of Comfort
Baby Caps of Love
If you knit or crochet (or would like to learn), please join us in the library the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of each month at 3pm as we continue this ministry. we have had many Comfort Shawls and given away as part of this program of sharing comfort, blessings, and prayers. Also, numerous baby caps have been completed and mailed by Presbyterian Women to hospitals and clinics in Africa. Anyone who is interested but unable to participate on Thursdays, please call Sharon Smoke at 943-0447 for information and patterns.

The Presbyterian cookbook, Culinary Crinkles, is now in its eighth edition and completely revised. It has been published by the Women of the Church since 1908 and contains recipes that have become classics in kitchens all over this area.

It is available from the church for $5 per copy. It may also be ordered by mail for an additional $2 to cover shipping and handling. Checks should be made out to Presbyterian Women and sent to:

The Presbyterian Women's Commerative Ornament is available from Presbyterian Women. They are $20 without a stand and $25 with a stand. Checks should be made out to Presbyterian Women and sent to:
