Here at First Presbyterian you will find that we are a congregation committed to answering Christ's call to "make disciples." We seek to grow disciples of Jesus Christ in five ways: Worship, Service, Education, Evangelism and Fellowship.
First Presbyterian Church offers a broad range of ministries and programs for all age groups. If you live or are visiting in the Greenwood area and are looking for a church to attend, we invite you to stop by and worship with us. Our Sunday Worship Services are at 9:00 and 11:00 AM.

When are your services?
9AM - Service

How long are the services?
All of the services typically last about an hour.

When do I need to arrive?
Plan to arrive 10 to 15 minutes prior to the start of the service.

How should I dress?
Come as you are. You will be welcome!

What should I bring?
Some people bring a Bible but this is not a requirement.

Do I have to be a member of First Presbyterian to take Communion?
All who acknowledge Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior are welcome to take Communion.

Where do my children go during worship?
During worship there are nurseries for infants through 3 year old children.
Four and five year olds stay in the service until after the children's message.
At that time they are taken to child care until the service is over. All other
children are encouraged to remain in the worship service with their parents.
We believe that children learn to worship by participating in worship.

Baptism
Infant and adult baptisms are scheduled during the year.
Call the church office (864-229-5814) to schedule a baptism.

Worship information for the disabled
The First Presbyterian sanctuary is equipped for wheelchair seating.
Handicapped parking and wheelchair access to the sanctuary is available.
Large print hymnals and hearing assistance devices are available.

How to Become a Member of First Presbyterian Church
If you are interested in becoming a member of First Presbyterian here's how. Share your interest with the Pastor or one of our ministers, or check the appropriate box on the Member/Guest Registry form located on the each pew in the sanctuary. If you have never confessed your faith in Jesus Christ as Savior, we encourage you to prayerfully make a commitment of your life to serve Him. Following your commitment to Christ, a time for your baptism will be set with the Pastor. Each candidate for church membership is invited to attend a New Members Class. These classes are conducted several times during the year. Following completion of the class, new member candidates are welcomed into the membership by the Session and then introduced to the congregation during a morning worship service so that our church family may celebrate your decision and welcome you as a new member.
